Frequestly Asked Questions

Are you one of the 65 million people at risk for Macular Degeneration?

Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of blindness for people over 50. An estimated 15 million have the disease and 50 million more are at risk.

Are you art risk?

While there is no known cure, recent studies suggest it can be prevented and, for those in the early stages of the disease, further decline can be slowed or stopped (see below).

If you or someone you know is concerned about  AMD or is currently taking a product containing the AREDS formula  such as PreserVision™, Ocuvite™, or I-Caps™ consider this:

In peer-reviewed clinical trials conducted at five nationally-known retinal clinics patients with mild AMD were treated either with the TOZAL formula (the study group) or the AREDS formula (the control group).  The results for the two groups were very different:

Of the patients given TOZAL:

  • 3 out of 4 (76.7%) experienced no further decline of their vision throughout the study.
  • 1 out of 2 (56.7%) experienced a slight improvement in their vision after 6 months.
  • 1 out of 4 (23.3%) continued to experience visual decline, but no worse than the patients in the control group (see below).

Of the patients given the AREDS based formula found in Preservision™, I-Caps™, Occuvite™ (the control group):

  • 3 out of 4 (75%) experienced no benefit (their vision continued to decline at the same rate as if they had taken nothing)
  • The remaining 1 in 4 (25%) patients experienced continued loss of vision, but at a slower rate

TOZAL® Eye Health Formula is the only product licensed to use the patented TOZAL® formula. Most other products, including those listed above are variations of the AREDS formula.

Moreover, current research from the National Eye Institute (NEI) and a meta-analysis from the University of Melbourne on nine studies covering the data on 88,974 subjects including 3,203 diagnosed with various stages of AMD, suggests that the ingredients in TOZAL can reduce the risk of developing AMD by 70%. In contrast, NEI research on the AREDS formula found no reduction in the risk of developing AMD for those who did not yet have it. Learn more
